A Selection of Newcastle Canvas Prints

Espirito Art's co-founders Matt Warnes and Andy Ward hail originally from Cumbria and Newcastle respectively. Although we feature artists from across the UK and abroad - naturally given our origins we have a number of artworks that celebrate the pride we have in our origins. To this end, we'd like to feature our ten favourite Newcastle Canvas Prints (in no particular order!).

In recent decades, Newcastle has undergone a radical transformation, while at the same time maintaining the friendly atmosphere and good humour that has always been its strongpoint. Much of the city's rejuvenation has been centred around Newcastle Gateshead's quayside area, where the banks of the Tyne have been developed from the famous Tyne Bridge - incorporating the celebrated Millennium Bridge and Baltic Art Gallery. As you will see, these have featured in our favourite Newcastle Canvas Prints, as has the Georgian architecture that adorns the city centre.

Wallsend Cranes at Night - Newcastle Canvas Print - From £75 by Barbara Maskrey

Tyne Canvas Prints

Geographical purists may argue that Wallsend is a town in its own right - but we like this atmospheric Tyne river canvas print too much to let the Ordnance Survey get in the way of its inclusion!

Angel of the North - Newcastle Canvas Print - From £50 by Brian Kerr

angel canvas prints

Although located within Gateshead, the stunning Angel of the North has been frequently adopted as a symbol of the vibrancy of the Northeast of England - and we're no different in our admiration of Anthony Gormley's landmark sculpture.

This fascinating view of the Baltic has been taken low down on the walkway of the Millennium Bridge, capturing both landmarks with an interesting style.

The Central Pub - Newcastle Canvas Print - From £80 by Barbara Maskrey

This interesting building is the Central Pub, located very close to the Gateshead side of the Tyne Bridge. If the Tyne Bridge is the Geordie Sydney Harbour Bridge, this pub could have claims as the Northeastern flatiron building!
