New Fine Art Canvas Prints from Caoimhghin Ó Croidheáin

While based in the UK, Espirito Art are committed to featuring artists from abroad, as well as finding exciting talent from this country. Already, we feature fine art canvas print collections from Tomás from the West of Ireland, together with James Selway from Catalunya. In addition, we will shortly be featuring a captivating figurative collection of artwork from an artist in the San Francisco Bay area. Continuing this international theme, our latest selection will be a collection from Dublin-based artist Caoimhghin Ó Croidheáin.

Caoimhghin has a huge portfolio of vibrant work, often focussing on cityscapes from his home city of Dublin. These artworks come together to create a social history of the city, tracking its changes, events and everyday life of its people - reflecting a new mixture of traditional and different ethnic and cultural backgrounds

Summing up his style perfectly, Caoimhghin describes his paintings as being like African music, portraying a social energy with vibrant colour and light. His cityscape themes have been extensively explored by the artist over time, bringing a documentary element to his portfolio - tracking changes in the shared human experience of Dubliners old and new.

With an extensive record of exhibitions in Ireland, his work has captivated audiences who come to see his fluid depictions of the Dublin cityscape, landscapes from Ireland's west coast and his paintings depicting Irish history and traditions. As well as these successful shows, Caoimhghin's work has been purchased by large organisations and has adorned book covers on important historical Irish figures.

While the artist devotes much of his energy to his documentary works of Dublin, his interest in Asian culture and his strong social conscience has also led to a series of fascinating artworks that picture life on that continent - in India, China and Cambodia. These bold and important paintings remind the viewer of the life that many people have to endure to service our lifestyle and consumerism in the West.
