Throughout the month of May we have been exhibiting a selection of canvas art prints from our fine artists and photographers at Newcastle Upon Tyne's Artworks Galleries. The gallery, in Ouseburn, has seen thousands of visitors during a month peppered with special cultural events - allowing many people the opportunity to see our fine art prints on canvas in the flesh.

We premiered our fine art canvas entitled 'Local Heroes', a history of Newcastle United at the event - which naturally proved to be popular with the locals. In addition to this fine art print on canvas from Stephen Warnes, we also exhibited his work, 'Deep in the Night', an epic-scale surrealist painting which has been skilfully reproduced as a canvas print.

From Catalunya based James Selway, we included his Barcelona canvas print, 'Las Ramblas', which depicts everyday life on the busy thoroughfare. And fine art photographer Kevin Day's 'Can't See the Wood' proved very popular with visitors, with its intense depiction of the textures and patterns forest floor. Also on show was a fine art print on canvas from Barbara Maskrey, showing one of the monumental cranes that stands idle on the banks of the River Tyne.

Several hundred people attended the preview night on the first Thursday of the month, guaranteeing crowds around our interesting selection of canvas art prints. And the gallery was also part of The Late Shows, a cultural event where all of the galleries and museums in the region opened their doors over a Friday and Saturday night - making for an alternative night out at the weekend.

The exhibition ends on 2 June, after which it will move on to a one off event showcasing artistic talent at Northumbria University.
